An old country house family home, much-loved by the owners. The careful renovation has created three self-catering apartments, and a B&B suite with Jacuzzi. The large first floor apartment has three doubles and a fully equipped kitchen; the two ground floor ones each sleep two and have kitchenettes with open doors onto the lawn. Décor throughout is sleek and fresh: beds draped in natural colours, long white sofas (inside and out), arched whitewashed or exposed stone walls; bathrooms have large mirrors and walk in showers or a bath tub. There’s a big kitchen where breakfasts of local produce are prepared, and owners run cooking lessons. Lawns run down to the shared pool, the sea shimmers in the distance, aromatic lavender and rosemary line low walls, bougainvillea is starting to weave up the house. Some of the many wonderfully gnarled olive trees are huge and over 1,000 years old; surrounding fields have organic figs, pears, cherries and citrus trees. Salento and Puglia on the doorstep: churches, trulli, fantastic food, miles of coastline; Ostuni the White City is picture-perfect on top of the hill.
